At Localing Tours we think long and hard about what makes the perfect day. No one is forced to spend money on travel and leisure but many people choose to. We get a surprising number of Australian guests on our tours but when you think a little longer, it’s not that surprising at all.
Our country is known as a working man's paradise for it’s relaxed, laid back culture and work life balance. These factors play a big role in recommending our friendly and liveable cities. Aussies know there are few places quite so wonderful to live. In spite of the expense and distance, many people choose to visit from all over the world and that’s not a recent phenomenon.
If you get a chance to visit the Old Treasury Building at the moment, you can check out an exhibition all about sailing into Melbourne; the norm until the 1960’s. As far back as 1880 some 1.5 million people were estimated to have come to the city, mostly by sea from all over the world. Quite an adventure I’m sure but not an easy journey when you consider the possibility of pirates, shipwrecks and scurvy.
It’s still a challenge, even for Melburnians, just finding time to set aside solely for leisure. At Localing Tours, we think that is really important. However you like to enjoy yourself, whether it’s eating and drinking, going for a hike or a whole combination of things – we’re here to help make it a pleasure.
