Adam in front of bushland by the Yarra River.
Meet the newest member of the Localing team, Adam, a Melbourne local who’s thrilled to start exploring his favourite parts of the city with guests.
Having worked in journalism and teaching, he’s excited to use his years of experience and knowledge when he’s on the road with guests. “I think those things really translate well into tour guiding. Interacting with people, spending time in a dynamic workplace where every day is something new and exciting - that’s why I became a tour guide".
Ask Adam what his favourite thing about Melbourne is and you’ll talk to him for days. “Where do I even begin? I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot in my lifetime but nothing beats coming home. It’s such an exciting, amazing place; the sports, arts, nightlife… and the food is incredible! All of these things have become passions of mine and Melbourne has played such a part in that".
Growing up in Caulfield with a strong Jewish heritage, he’s looking forward to sharing his knowledge of Melbourne’s Jewish history with guests.
But his insights don’t end there – he’s also a foodie who will take you to some hidden gems around the inner suburbs. Victoria Street is a must for Vietnamese food, and St. Kilda and Caulfield boast the “best spots for a traditional Melbourne brunch".
If you’re after a more regional experience, The Great Ocean Road was a second home for Adam growing up. “Surfing, berry-picking, exploring – I’ve been down there every summer since I was a kid. It’s such a beautiful part of the world with so much to see and do”.
“I’m really excited to be taking Localing tours all around Melbourne and the surrounding areas. Melburnians are super proud of their city and really enjoy showing it off, and I think there really is a lot to show off here. It’s a city that’s so special because the tourists and locals really overlap in what we love to do, and I’m so excited to enjoy these experiences with guests".
